Environmental Benefits

Rubber waste is a grave environmental threat. Globally, over one billion tires reach their end of life each year. A large portion of them are dumped in already overflowing stockpiles and landfills. These tires are not biodegradable, are dangerously combustible and wreak havoc on the environment.

Driven by environmental concerns, developed countries are passing stricter legislation for rubber waste. Under the EU directives, for example, it is forbidden to dump tires (even if shredded and ground) into landfills. There is no doubt that an economically feasible, environmentally friendly solution for scrap rubber is needed.

LEVGUM‘s devulcanization process, with its exceptionally high recovery rate, is the sustainable economic model for the problem of rubber waste. Unlike today’s widely used recycling technologies – incineration and crumb rubber – LEVGUM‘s technology allows for the re-use of a much higher percentage of recycled rubber into newly manufactured rubber products.

At the same time, LEVGUM‘s clean, efficient production of high-quality recycled rubber means there are no waste by-products, no dangerous chemicals are used, there are no hazardous emissions, the process is non-toxic, and is completely safe for the environment.

LEVGUM‘s process is redefining the value of recycled rubber, while helping to heal our earth.

For the first time, as a result of LEVGUM‘s revolutionary technology, high-quality recycled rubber compound can replace virgin rubber compound with a significant cost savings, thereby ensuring a better and more lucrative future for the rubber industry.
